What is COBRA
The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) provides employees and their dependents an option of continued coverage when an employee loses employment or experiences a reduction of hours.

Does my business have to administer COBRA?
COBRA applies to most private sector businesses with 20 or more employees. It requires an employer’s group health insurance plan to continue after qualifying life events.
Who qualifies for COBRA?
The affected employee and their dependents qualify for COBRA. Their dependents could be individuals such as their spouse, children, and/or former spouse
What is considered a qualifying event for COBRA?
Termination of an employee’s employment, reduction of hours, the employee becomes eligible for Medicare, divorce, legal separation, and/or death of employee.
How long does COBRA last?
Depending on the qualifying event, COBRA could last anywhere from 18-36 months.
When should an affected employee receive a Qualifying Event notification?
Employer’s must notify Precision Administrators, Inc., of any qualifying event within 30 days of the event. Precision Administrators, Inc., then has 14 days to notify the affected employee of their COBRA rights.
